Police surveillance of a 48-year-old heroin dealer ended Monday after the suspect was arrested with her boyfriend on Warm Springs Road, according to court testimony.
Tracy Middlebrooks faced trafficking heroin, trafficking meth, drug related objects and driving without headlights charges during a Wednesday morning Recorder's Court hearing. Jesse Barlow, 30, was charged with possession of Schedule IV drugs and drug related objects.
Cpl. Nathan Norton was patrolling near an unspecified Warm Springs Road hotel when he spotted Tracy Middlebrooks driving her 1998 Toyota 4Runner without headlights. Informants had fed Norton details about Middlebrooks' activities for some time. However, Norton said the arrest was not related to that investigation.
A vehicle search revealed 2.5 grams of heroin, 1.4 grams of meths, several pipes, digital scales, hypodermic needles and metal spoons, Norton said. Police also located seven Xanax pills in Barlow's possession, along with a large amount of cash.
Norton said Middlebrooks' Xanax prescription bottle, later found in the car, complicated Barlow's Schedule IV drugs. The charge remained because the pills were repackaged for his possession.
Judge Michale Cielinski set Middlebrooks' bond at $26,250. Barlow's was set at $11,000.
