Police are searching for sexual assault suspect after he was accused of repeatedly threatening his victim via phone, according to a Columbus police report.
The 33-year-old woman told police James P. Berry contacted her multiple times throughout April, despite her repeated assertions for him to leave her alone. On Wednesday, she reported that he called and promised he and his friends were "coming for (her)" and that they "will see (her) soon." The calls were made to her residence located off Weems Road.
A stalking warrant has been issued for Berry.
On April 8, the victim first reported Berry for harassing phone calls. She told police Birmingham law enforcement are investigating a sexual assault report she made against Berry. Police warned Berry at that time not to have further contact with the victim.
