When Charles Price showed up to Therrell High School last Friday, he was covered in blood — "I killed it," he said, according to court testimony.
Although teachers initially assumed the Atlanta teen had attacked another student, authorities were soon led by his statements to the Fairburn Road home of his grandmother.
The 76-year-old woman was found with more than 50 stab wounds to her torso, face and upper extremities. "The bloody crime scene spread from the kitchen to the living room," APD Detective Kevin Otts testified, according to the AJC.
The attack may have been sparked by a dispute over the home's DVR, Otts said.
Price's grandmother was the mother of an Atlanta police officer. The officer is not Price's father, according to police.
Price was arrested at his school; he is being charged as an adult in the murder of his grandmother and is held without bond
