A Columbus woman says a 28-year-old man tried to bribe her after raping her inside her home off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to court testimony.
Darrell Lockhart pleaded not guilty to rape and aggravated assault charges during a Friday morning Recorder's Court hearing.
The victim told police she met Lockhart Sunday afternoon while walking from a gas station on MLK Boulevard. The victim said Lockhart pulled up beside her in a Chevrolet TrailBlazer and asked for her number, an officer told the court.
After speaking with Lockhart for a few moments, the victim exchanged numbers with Lockhart and continued home. The victim told police she gave the suspect her number because he was well-dressed, polite and seemed to be on his way home from church, according to court testimony.

Later that day Lockhart went over to the victim's home to watch a movie.
When Lockhart asked if the victim wanted to have sex, she agreed to oral sex, but said she didn't want to go further, the officer said. Lockhart then allegedly threw the victim on the bed before choking and raping her.
During Friday's hearing, the victim told the court Lockhart attempted to give her money afterwards, which she refused. She spoke with a friend before deciding to call police and seek medical treatment, according to court testimony.
Judge Michael Joyner set no bond on Lockhart's charges Friday. His case will be forwarded to the Muscogee County Superior Court.
