A 26-year-old Burnside Drive woman is in custody for aggravated assault (family violence) charges after she allegedly punched and bit her wife, according to Columbus police.
Officers were dispatched to the woman's 2300 block Burnside Drive home at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday in reference to a dispute, according to report.
There, an officer met with the suspect, Alice Cook-Ellis, who said that she hadn't called police, that police were no longer needed and that everything was now "OK" following an earlier verbal dispute.
Attempts to contact the victim initially were unsuccessful, but at about 9:30 a.m., officers met with Cook-Ellis' wife at another location, where the woman reported that her wife had punched and bitten her inside their home that morning, cutting her left hand.
Alice Cook-Ellis was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault (family violence).
