Columbus police arrested two people at a wild party on Celia Drive Sunday.
Rene Jones, 31, of 1709 Celia Drive, was arrested and charged with maintaining a disorderly house. Christopher Williams, 28, of 1373 Sturkie Drive in Columbus, was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, discharging a firearm, reckless conduct, and obstruction.
According to the police report, the incident occurred 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Two officers were dispatched to the Celia Drive location in reference to a large party.
Upon arrival, officers observed around 20 people in the front yard and loud music coming from the residence.
They asked to see the homeowner and Jones came to meet the officers.
Police say that while speaking to her, a loud gunshot went off about 20-30 feet from the officers.
A large group of people were outside yelling and shouting at police causing a disturbance for the neighborhood.
Police say that after officers put Jones in handcuffs, she refused to give identifying information for an arrest report.
She later had to be medically cleared at the Midtown Medical Center because she told the jail staff she had been taking the drug MDMA known as "Molly."
When with the doctor, she denied taking narcotics.
Police did not observe any behavior that would indicate narcotic use.
