Winston Road suspect previously convicted on gun, theft charges

Four months before Terrance Jamal Streeter was accused of participating in a Winston Road shootout that left 16-year-old Christopher Jones dead, the 18 year old was convicted of receiving a stolen car and carrying a weapon as a minor, according to court documents.

Streeter, who was named Tuesday as the third suspect in the shootout, will face an aggravated assault charge Thursday in Recorder's Court. He turned himself in to Columbus police Wednesday after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

The teen joins Jaquan Harris and Jamal Scott, who faced felony murder, aggravated assault and related charges during a Tuesday morning Recorder's Court hearing.

Muscogee County court documents show Streeter pleaded guilty to theft by receiving stolen property, carrying a weapon without a license and possession of a pistol by a minor on April 24, 2014. He was given five years probation.

According to the documents, Streeter was accused of knowingly receiving a a stolen vehicle worth almost $5,000 on March 19, 2013. He is also accused of carrying or concealing a .22 caliber Phoenix Arms handgun during the crime. He was 17 years old at the time of his arrest.

On Aug. 21, police say Jones, Harris and Scott were attempting to sell Streeter a .40 caliber Glock out of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. The teens met on Calvin Avenue for the transaction.

Sometime during the exchange, police say Streeter snatched the weapon and fled. Armed with an AK-47 and two handguns, the teens began searching for Streeter on Winston Road.

When Jones, Harris and Scott found Streeter on a Winston Road porch, the four began firing at each other. One bullet hit Jones in the head, causing him to wreck the Hyundai. Police later found Jones dead in the driver's seat, according to earlier reports.

Police also arrested Winston Road resident Antonio Robinson, 44, during the investigation. Robinson faces two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and keeping a disorderly house, according to earlier reports.

Lt. Greg Touchberry was unable to confirm Wednesday morning whether Streeter will face additional charges, such as violation of probation, during Thursday's hearing.
