A man officials believe beat and carjacked a Columbus woman on Mason Drive is in police custody.
On Sunday, 27-year-old Terrance Travon Coleman, who gave an Atlanta address, was arrested at noon inside of the Cobb County Jail. He faces one counts each of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, theft by taking motor vehicle and theft by taking in connection to the March incident, according to an arrest report.
Police said they were called to the Midtown Medical Center Emergency Room. They met with a battered 25-year-old woman who was in stable condition. The victim told police that Coleman, a man close to her, beat her and stole her $8,000 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis and additional unspecified property valued at $400.
Coleman is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court Wednesday at 9 a.m.
