Authorities said they have launched two homicide investigations after finding three people dead in Americus this morning.
Americus police received a call at 9 a.m. Monday morning about two bodies, which were found in a residence in the 1100 block of North Jackson Street, officials wrote.
The individuals were identified as 36-year-old Corey Willis and 24-year-old Quanesha Lashon Brown.
A relative of one of the deceased discovered the bodies. That person’s employer contacted the relative after the person didn't show up for work, the agency officials said in the release.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., the Americus Police were called to the 100 block of Lester Street, where they discovered another body, authorities said.
That person was identified as 44-year-old Tonya Annette Ross.
The Americus Police Department has requested the GBI’s assistance in both investigations.
Officials are working to determine if the two cases are related.
