Police believe a 27-year-old man had oral sex with a highly intoxicated married woman who doesn't recall the Nov. 27 incident, Columbus Police Detective Jeff Kraus said in Recorder's Court Monday afternoon.
Antonio Michael Amarosa pleaded not guilty to aggravated sodomy.
Judge Mary Buckner ordered that Amarosa be placed in the Muscogee County Jail under no bond, and the case was bound over to Superior Court.
On Thanksgiving, the victim and suspect went out to enjoy dinner and drank heavily during their outing, Columbus Police Detective Jeff Kraus said during the continued hearing.
Someone called a male friend to pick them up, since they were both too intoxicated to drive. That friend picked up the two and drove them back to a residence near 13th Street, the officer said.
The designated driver told police that the victim was so intoxicated that she threw up multiple times and couldn't stand up on her own, Kraus said.
The victim and suspect were in bed together the next morning, but the woman was fully clothed, according to the officer.
The woman told police that the last thing she remembered was fetching an air mattress for both of the guys, Kraus said. She asked the suspect what they did, but he reportedly said nothing happened.
Hours later, she found her panties in the trash can and called Amarosa to question him about the incident once more. That's when the suspect reportedly said that something did happen, but it wasn't what she was thinking.
Afterwards, Amarosa allegedly called the friend and admitted to performing oral sex on the married woman. He went on to tell the friend that they shouldn't say anything, or they'll both get in trouble.
Amarosa turned himself into Columbus authorities at the Public Safety Center last week.
