Columbus police have apprehended a juvenile who they believe struck a pit bull with a brick Thursday outside of a Rigdon Road residence, according to a report.
The dog is in critical condition, officials said.
Two officers were called to the 1200 block of Rigdon Road Thursday at 2:34 p.m. in reference to an animal cruelty report. They were informed the dog was in the yard when it was hit with a brick between 2:15 p.m. and 2:34 p.m.
A juvenile was arrested in connection to the incident, but police did not list any charges placed against the individual in the report.
The pet is a black and white pit bull mix and about 5 to 6 years old, according to the report.
