Update: Jakorcyus Newsom,18, of LaGrange was arrested Thursday at about 4:15 p.m. in connection to the LaGrange shooting on Hamilton Road.
The suspect faces three counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in relation to the Monday incident. He was transported to the Troup County Jail.
LaGrange Police Sgt. William Nelson said there was an ongoing conflict between Newsroom and the gunshot wound victim prior to the incident.
All three victims were in a vehicle when the assault occurred, Nelson said. Original Story: Two men were treated after shots were fired Monday in a parking lot on Hamilton Road, police said.
One man was in stable condition and another was treated for broken glass after the 5:41 p.m. shooting in the 500 block of Hamilton Road, LaGrange Police said in a release. Both were treated at the emergency room of the hospital.
An investigation revealed that two men and a male juvenile were in the parking lot when shots were fired. Police found broken glass and numerous shell casings at the scene.
Police found all three victims at the hospital. One was treated and released for injuries from broken glass, the juvenile wasn't injured and the third victim required treatment for a leg wound, police said.
A suspect has been identified in connection with the shooting which remains under investigation. Officers are searching for the suspect.
