Officials apprehended Tuesday the man who they believe wounded a 46-year-old resident in an Opelika shooting on Donald Avenue, according to a release.
Octavious Charles Bryant, 36, of Opelika was arrested on a warrant for attempted murder Tuesday at 2:01 p.m. in the 400 block of North Dean Road in Auburn, Opelika Police Capt. Shane Healey said.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Auburn Police Department assisted in the capture of Bryant. He was booked into the Lee County Jail, where he remains pending bond, Healey said.
Bryant’s arrest stems from the May 27 shooting of a 46-year-old Opelika man in the 800 block of Donald Avenue, the officer said.
The victim told police that Bryant approached him and shot him multiple times, Healey said.
The 46-year-old man had a friend drop him off at the East Alabama Medical Center ER for treatment, and police were called to the hospital at 1:45 p.m., according to a release.
Opelika police declined Wednesday morning to release additional information concerning the ongoing investigation.
