A severe thunderstorm rolled through the Columbus area and knocked out power to 4,672 residents late Wednesday, officials said.
No injuries were reported during the storm but high winds and rain scattered power outages throughout the city. No time estimate was available on when the power will be restored.
Most of the outages were from strong winds and trees limbs striking power lines.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree, City, had issued a thunderstorm warning for Columbus and Phenix City before the storm struck.
More details will be available later.
