A Columbus man faces a series of drug charges after he was stopped in a car on 20th Avenue Friday afternoon, police said.
Dah'vontay Richardson, 18, was a passenger in a Dodge Neon when it was stopped at 12:30 p.m. near the Elizabeth Canty Homes. Police found a small amount of crack cocaine under the seat and charged him with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing project.
The drug charges didn't end with the cocaine. After he was transported to the Muscogee County Jail, a deputy found $15 worth of marijuana in his rectum. Marijuana possession led to a felony crossing the guardline charge.
Deputies also learned that he was wanted by Columbus for three counts of theft by taking motor vehicle. He is held in the Muscogee County jail for 9 a.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder's Court.
