Update: Russell Alan Lashley Jr. was apprehended in connection to Thursday's robbery at the Valley Heritage Bank, according to a release.
Officials said the suspect was arrested Sunday on first-degree robbery and second-degree theft by taking property warrants issued hours after the incident. He turned himself in to authorities at the Valley Police Department, Valley Police Maj. Mike Reynolds said.
Lashley was processed at the Valley Police Department and later transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility, where he will be held pending bonding procedures, police said.
Original Story: The male suspect in a robbery at Heritage Bank in Valley, Ala., has been identified as Russell Alan Lashley Jr., authorities said.
Lashley, a 33-year-old white male, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a news release issued by the Valley Police Department.
Lashley is approximately five-foot-eight, weighs 155 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
He is in the company of an unidentified white female, and was last seen driving a black four-door Lexus with sunroof.
Warrants for robbery in the first degree and theft of property, second-degree, have been issued for his arrest.
Police have been looking for the couple since Thursday after they allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money from the drive-thru at Heritage Bank.
Police Maj. Mike Reynolds said the male driver of the car passed a note to the teller at 3:31 p.m. CDT and demanded money. The teller complied, giving the man an undisclosed amount of cash.
After taking the money, the robbers were last seen traveling north on 20th Avenue toward Interstate 85 to Lanett.
No one was injured during the robbery and no weapons were displayed.
The woman was described as having long, dark and stringy hair.
