Opelika police said they arrested Wednesday the four individuals responsible for multiple car burglaries at the Towne Lakes subdivision.
Octavious Jamar Bennett, 18, of Cusseta, Ala. and three juveniles were charged with theft and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle after authorities allegedly found them with the stolen items early Wednesday.
Bennett was booked into the Lee County Detention Center, and the other suspects were referred to the Lee County Juvenile Court system, police said. Officials did not release the juveniles' names.
Around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call concerning suspicious people in the area of Towne Lakes subdivision on North Uniroyal Road, Opeilka Police Capt. Shane Healey said.

Officials spotted four males in a house yard in the 800 block of East Towne Lake Circle, and the suspects ran, Healey said.
Two were captured immediately, but the others allegedly attempted to leave the area in a car. Healey said they were stopped by police and detained.
Officers later learned that six cars at the subdivision were broken into and stripped of small items.
