A city employee found an assortment of drugs late last week in the Northside Recreation Center at 2002 American Way, according to a Columbus Police report.
The worker told authorities around 10:15 a.m. Friday that he was cleaning bathrooms when he stumbled upon the drugs. He said he picked up a trash can in the women's bathroom and noticed a white plastic bag tied closed and covered with paper towels.
The employee told police he tore the bag open and found plastic bags inside that contained 30.4 grams of marijuana, 1.8 grams of heroin, 15 mg of morphine, three packages of Bugler brand tobacco, two packs of Top brand rolling paper and two rolls of black electrical tape.
Police said they do not know who put the drugs in the bathroom, but they believe the drugs were placed there between noon Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday.
The items were logged into property and evidence and discarded, authorities added.
