A gunman robbed a homeless couple of a $10 scratch-off lottery ticket at the Chattahoochee Riverwalk Pavilion late Thursday and fled, Columbus police said.
The man and woman, both 35, weren’t injured during the 11:40 p.m. robbery but the man was struck in the head with the gun. Both were in good condition and not treated.
Police said the robber pointed a pistol at the victims when he took the lottery ticket from the woman. He attempted to rob the man but was unsuccessful.
The gunman was described as black, 22-25 years old, about 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. With a dark complexion and long dreadlocks, he wore blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The robbery remains under investigation.
