Teen, 17, shot multiple times on Georgetown Drive

A teen was hit by gunshots Thursday night in the parking lot at Columbus Villas, Columbus police said.

The 17-year-old Kendrick High School student was struck in his back, hand, shoulder and leg during the 8:15 p.m. assault at 6016 Georgetown Drive, a friend said. Police said he was in stable condition at Midtown Medical Center.

Police said they were called first to an address on Buena Vista Road to check on a robbery victim. A second officer was called to a separate location to meet with a person who said he picked up a shooting victim.

The assault remains under investigation. No description of a suspect was listed in the report but police indicated the shooting was drug related.
