Man shot in groin area Monday at Columbus pavilion
A 30-year-old Columbus man was wounded Monday evening in a shooting at the intersection of First Avenue and 22nd Street, authorities said.
The victim was transported to Midtown Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the groin area and listed in stable condition.
A Columbus police officer said she was called to the hospital around 5:20 p.m. to speak with a gunshot victim who had been dropped off.
The victim stated that he was at the pavilion when a black man with a short Afro, white pants, black T-shirt and black shoes shot him with a handgun between 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. No further details about the incident were provided.
The shooter remains on the loose, police said. Officials have not listed any possible suspects, but the report indicates that the attacker is not a stranger to the victim.
