Man robbed at gunpoint outside of Columbus Walmart

A 55-year-old man escaped injury late Wednesday when he was robbed at gunpoint outside of a Columbus Walmart Supercenter, according to reports.

Columbus Police said they are still trying to identify and capture the two men who are responsible for the 11:10 p.m. incident.

In a report, officers said they were called to the 5448 Whittlesey Boulevard business shortly after the armed robbery.

The victim told the responding officers that he was in the parking lot when two black men traveling in a dark-colored sedan (possibly a Buick) with tinted windows robbed him of $312 in cash and $20 worth of property. He said at least one of the men was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.

According to the reports, the driver of the sedan is 5 feet tall and 125 pounds. He has a "very large nose" and wore black pants and a baggy hoodie, the victim told police. The victim didn't provide a detailed description of the passenger.

The case remains under investigation.
