Police investigating armed robbery, shooting at Rainbow Food Mart

Columbus police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting at Rainbow Food Mart on Peacock Avenue.

According to a police report, the crime occurred at 10:46 p.m. Saturday.

Two men entered the business and stole approximately $400.

Sunday, a man who was a customer when the robbery occurred, said he was recuperating at Midtown Medical Center after being shot in the back of the right leg.

The man said the thieves gave in the store and said "give up the money." They also said for nobody to look at them.

The man said he was  on the floor with his hands behind his head and that he was shot as the men were leaving. He can't say why they shot him but feels lucky he was not shot somewhere where the wound would be more serious.
