Columbus police arrest three on sex-trafficking charges

Columbus police have arrested three people on charges related to sex trafficking at a residence at 2924 Gleason Ave.

The victims were a 21-year-old woman from Hampton, Ga., and a 16-year-old Columbus girl.

Police said they were alerted to the allegations Dec. 16 when someone flagged down police Cpl. Brittney Hayes as she worked part-time at the 2801 Airport Thruway Wal-Mart.

Police said the offenses occurred between 1 p.m. Dec. 9 and 2:30 a.m. Dec. 16.

Investigators said they arrested Maurice DeAngelo Walker, 24; Kimari Hill, 24; and Bryshae S. McBride, 23; all of of 2924 Gleason Ave.

Each was charged with trafficking a person for sexual servitude. Walker also was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and six counts of aggravated sodomy, the latter involving the 16-year-old, detectives said.

McBride was charged also with kidnapping, battery and false imprisonment, officers said.

Hill was charged also with false imprisonment and giving police false information, police said.
