Car and home riddled with bullets in separate shootings
Five people escaped serious injuries early today after gunshots were fired into a car on Playfield Drive and home on Wickham Drive, Columbus police said.
Shots were fired into a home in the 200 block of Wickham Drive around 1:45 a.m. Two men, ages 21 and 60, weren’t injured inside the home during the assault.
Damage to the house was estimated at $1,500. Police didn't specify how many shots hit the house.
About 45 minutes later, shots were fired into a 2000 Mercury Marquis as three men were traveling in a car on Playfield Drive. The Mercury they were riding in was hit with four bullets but none of the occupants, three 25-year-old men, was injured.
Damaged was estimated at $400 to the car.
Police said an officer was called to the 5000 block of Forrest Road to talk to victims in the 2:30 a.m. shooting. The shots were fired from an unknown dark sedan.
Both shootings remain under investigation.
