Update: Coroner releases names of two found dead in 14th Court home in Phenix City
Authorities launched a double homicide investigation early this morning after finding two men dead in a Phenix City home at 109 14th Court.
Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. identified the victims as 18-year-old Alonzo Pipkin and 24-year-old London Long, both of Phenix City. At 7:55 a.m. this morning, they were pronounced dead on the scene of what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds, Sumbry said.
An autopsy will be performed on their bodies Friday morning at a crime lab in Montgomery, Ala., the coroner added.
Phenix City Police Capt. Frank Ivey said officers were called to the scene around 4 a.m. this morning after someone reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.
Ivey said there are no suspects at this time and details are limited as police continue to investigate the case.
