Man, 19, wanted for murder in fatal Opelika shooting
A 19-year-old man is wanted for the murder of Jacob Smith, a 22-year-old Auburn man who was fatally shot Saturday in Opelika, according to a press release from the Opelika Police Department.
Officials said Malik Dajuan Jacobs, 19, was identified as the person who argued with Smith before gunning him down in the 500 block of Raintree Street around 9 p.m. that night. The suspected shooter was last seen around 2 a.m. the following morning in Barbour County in Alabama and is suspected to be on the run, authorities said.
Police said Jacobs, who “quite frequently” uses the last name Sistrunk, is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. He was last seen with a gold teeth, officials noted.
“Jacobs is believed to be armed and dangerous,” police said in the release.
