The Muscogee County School District announced that it will hold a recruitment fair July 12 to fill positions in the new Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts. The fair will be held at Carver High School from 5-8 p.m.
The fair is open to external candidates only, with positions available in band, chorus, dance, theater and orchestra.
The new fine arts school is named after two prominent historical artists from the city, the novelist Carson McCullers and the blues singer “Ma” Rainey. The school will offer courses in music, theater, visual art, film and creative writing, as well as a full academic program, superintendent David Lewis told the Ledger-Enquirer last November.
