The 10th Annual Hannan Tech Expo will be held 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 6 at Hannan Elementary Magnet Academy. The expo highlights creative, Common Core and Georgia Performance Standards based projects, which promote innovative learning strategies.
Participants can expect to see projects designed by students such as websites, PowerPoint presentations, podcasts, Web 2.0 activities and Microsoft document displays for grades K-5. The event is sponsored by the Hannan Parent Teacher Association. Dinner will be available for purchase. The school is located at 1338 Talbotton Road.
Calvary Christian School, 7556 Old Moon Road, presents Disney's "The Little Mermaid, Jr.", 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., May 8 and 6:30 p.m., May 9. Adult tickets are $10 each; students and children are $5 each.
The Harris County Chamber of Commerce announces plans for Youth Leadership Harris County 2014. Youth Leadership Harris County is an opportunity for young people around the county who are interested in learning more about their community and developing lifelong leadership, communication and servant leadership skills.
The chamber is now taking recommendations for participants in the Youth Leadership Harris County program. The program will take place every other week during the Fall of the 2014-2015 school year, beginning in August and concluding before the Thanksgiving break. The program recommendations are open to rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors for next school year.
Class size is limited to 24 participants and with this program only happening every two years the spaces fill up quickly. The cost of the program is $50 and scholarship funds are available. Recommendation forms are available now through the Harris County Chamber office.
