Two Brookstone students selected for the Governor's Honors Program are: Michael Gibbes (chemistry) and Koyal Ansingkar (music-violin).
Parker Bennett, an eighth grade student at St. Luke School, placed first at the State level of the national History day competition recently held at Mercer University in April. Parker's National Day website, "Horace King: Bridging Rights and Responsibilities," was one of 14 finalist websites in the national competition, placing 5th in the nation. His entry also won the Kenneth E. Behring Outstanding Entry Award for the State of Georgia in the Junior Division. Parker was one of 20 selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities to attend a briefing on Capitol Hill. Parker had the opportunity to meet Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson and Congressmen Lynn Westmoreland and Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
