The Muscogee County School Board will vote on the appointment of assistant principals for four schools at a called meeting Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Muscogee County Public Education Center.
Recommended by superintendent David Lewis for assistant principal at Baker Middle School is Lamont Sheffield.
Sheffield has served as a math teacher at Spencer High Schoo, where he was the school's teacher of the year in 2012, and currently serves the MCSD as a regional academic coach.
For Rothschild Leadership Academy, Lewis is recommending Brenda Merritt who has been an educator for 17 years.
The former math teacher at Marshall Middle School has served as academic coach at East Columbus Magnet Academy since 2007.
If approved by the school board, Kathleen Houston will work as a shared assistant principal for Allen Elementary School and Wynnton Arts Academy.
Houston has worked as a teacher at Britt David Elementary Magnet Academy and has served as a regional academic coach since 2014.
In other business:
The board will vote to approve the guaranteed maximum price of $1,054,420 for the renovation of the auditorium at Jordan High School.
A vote will be taken to authorize the settlement of a negotiated special education student case to not exceed $74,000.
The board will be presented with a human resources report which includes administrative transfers for the 2016 school year. This report is being presented to gain board approval to finalize administrative transfers of assistant principals . This will allow the assistant principals to orientate with their principals.
