It's nearing that time again.
School starts back in less than two weeks for some local students, and while most students either have their supply list or will get it soon, parents are out looking for the best deals. You may want to get them now and beat the crowd, or you can wait for the tax-free holidays that are coming up both in Georgia and Alabama.
Georgia will have its tax-free holiday Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1. Included in the tax-free holiday are clothing items and footwear $100 and under per item, school supplies at $20 or under per item and computers, software and equipment listed for $1,000 and under per item.

Alabama's tax-free holidays are the following weekend and will last one day longer. Tax-free items in Alabama on Aug. 7-9 include the same list as Georgia's except some different price points. School supplies can be $50 and under per item to qualify, and computers, software and equipment has to be $750 and under per item. Clothing is the same at $100 per item.
