Veterans and their family members are encouraged to attend a town hall meeting Friday at the Columbus Public Library.
Sponsored by the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, the 3 p.m. meeting will update veterans on progress to improve access at CAVHCS and opening of the new outpatient clinic at Fort Benning.
“Our goal is to hear from veterans and gain valuable feedback that will help us continue to improve the care and services we provide,” said Dr. Robin Jackson, interim director.
Representative from the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration and the Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning will provide information about services. Staff members from the social work service, nursing and customer service of the health care system will be available to answer questions.
Never miss a local story.
The meeting is open to the public and Congressional stakeholders, veteran service organizations, non-governmental organizations and other community partners are encouraged to attend. Town hall meetings for veterans are held quarterly as part of the Department of Veterans Affairs' commitment to improve communication with veterans to build trust.
