Polls open Tuesday for Muscogee County sheriff’s runoff

Anyone registered by the Oct. 11 deadline for the General Election is eligible to vote in the runoff, so they do not have to have voted Nov. 8. Residents unsure of their eligibility may check it through the Georgia Secretary of State’s “My Voter Page” at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov or call the local elections office at 706-653-4392.

Trump voters say they’re doing fine but government is lying about economy’s health

There’s a disconnect between economic data suggesting a good and growing economy, and a groundswell of voters who think those numbers are rigged. Interviews with several dozen voters in Western Pennsylvania who support Republican Donald Trump reveal a deeply held distrust of government statistics and programs, a fear that their own relative prosperity is threatened and the strong sense that change is critical in the White House.

Tonight's live broadcast of the election results gets Patrick Chappel, a 15-year-old Hillary Clinton supporter, on the edge of his seat at a watching party at the Columbus Democratic Headquarters. Chappel goes to Columbus High and is the president of young democrats at the school. He said that he is scared about Trump winning key states and the states that are too close to call.
