Lee County Commissioner Gary Long won re-election by a landslide margin Tuesday night. According to unofficial results, Long, a Republican, had taken some 71 percent of the vote over his Democratic opponent, B. Donta Truss.
In Chambers County, voters elected Lisa M. Burdette to succeed retiring circuit clerk Charles W. Story. Burdette, a Republican, won 54 percent of the vote, defeating Yolanda Ratchford 7,674 to 6,532, according to numbers reported to the Alabama Secretary of State.
Brandy Clark Easlick unseated Probate Judge Cary Baldwin, winning about 53 percent of the vote. In the Chambers County Commission race, Commissioner Henry C. Osborne hung onto his seat against challenger and former commissioner Charles Hardage. Osborne garnered 55 percent of the vote.
In the Chambers County Board of Education race, Judy Liles LaFollette defeated Douglas Hubbard. LaFollette had some 66 percent of the vote.
