Vivien Leigh Dies
Actress Vivien Leigh, the former wife of Sir Laurence Olivier, was found dead today in her London apartment. Miss Leigh, who was 53, was famous for her role as Scarlett O’Hara in the movie “Gone With The Wind.” She had been confined to bed for some time for treatment of tuberculosis.
Columbus Ledger editorials took a top prize Friday night at the 81st annual convention of the Georgia Press Association. Ledger editorials in the judging dealt with fluoridation, the racial strife of last summer and freedom of information.
