Toll Tops 100,000
U.S. troops suffered 1,920 casualties last week, including 141 dead, it was announced today. The new figure sent casualties for the war soaring above the 100,000 mark, most of them suffered in the first nine months of this year.
Seibold Hearing
An extradition hearing in Florida on Oct. 25 will determine whether Eddie Seibold will be returned to Alabama to face charges in the deaths of three young Auburn girls.
He is charged with slashing to death Sarah Elizabeth Sinclair, 18, and shooting and slashing her sister, Mary Lynn, 9, and a friend, Mary Durant, the night of Sept. 6.
‘One-Horse Town’
Considering its size, Columbus is a “one-horse town” as far as having wholesome places for youngsters to go, Mrs. J. Walter Owens said today at a meeting of the Muscogee County Council of PTAs.
Mrs. Owens was reporting on proposed city ordinance changes concerning the admittance of minors to private clubs.
