The Red Devils kept it rolling with another region victory Friday night.

Central (6-0, 3-0) took care of Enterprise (1-6, 0-4) with relative ease in a 55-7 road victory Friday. Joseph McKay got the scoring of the night started on a 4-yard touchdown run. After Justyn Ross’ 26-yard touchdown reception, McKay got it going again, this time on a 18-yard score.

McKay added his third touchdown -- a 13-yard score -- late in the going to make it a 42-7 contest.

McKay wasn’t the only Red Devil to get it done on the ground against Enterprise. Jamaar Spivey also posted three rushing touchdowns in the win, including a 45-yard run in the second quarter.

Central hosts Jefferson Davis on Friday.

Marion County 55, Brookstone 28

A big second-half effort from Marion County led the Eagles to a 55-28 region victory on the road against Brookstone Friday.

After leading the Cougars 13-7 at halftime, Marion County (6-1, 3-1) scored 14 unanswered points to start the third quarter in a 12-minute period in which it put up 22 points. Running back Travon Matthews was responsible for two of the touchdowns, giving him three after his 2-yard touchdown run the first quarter.

Matthews ended the game with 17 carries for 100 yards.

Matthews has routinely been Marion County’s top rusher, but that wasn’t the case against Brookstone (5-2, 3-1). Quarterback Trice McCannon logged 167 yards on 13 carries, including a 56-yard run that went for a touchdown in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. McCannon also threw a touchdown pass and posted 185 total yards.

Quentez Battle may not have gotten as many carries as Matthews or McCannon, but he did more with less. Battle took 7 carries for 158 yards in the victory.

The disappointing second half for Brookstone overshadowed a promising start. Running back Richard Hill posted rushing touchdowns in the second and third quarters, each coming on 13-yard runs. Jeremiah Burgess ran for a score and caught another in the fourth quarter, but it proved too little too late.
