For the second time this season, Columbus State University women’s soccer player Tehgan Anguilm was voted the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week.
The sophomore adds to Columbus State’s weekly honors this season, giving the Lady Cougars five on the year.
Anguilm helped the Lady Cougars to two more victories last week, winning at Clayton State and Georgia Southwestern.
Columbus State allowed just one goal in the two matches, coming with Anguilm already off the field in a 4-1 win at Clayton State. CSU then held GSW without a shot in Saturday’s 11-0 win, the first time the Lady Cougars had kept an opponent without a shot since 2010.
Never miss a local story.
Anguilm continued to contribute on the offensive end as well, adding her sixth assist of the season on Saturday. She is currently tied for the conference lead in that category.
Columbus State is back on its home field on Wednesday night to take on Young Harris. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.
