Hawkins named All-American
Columbus State defender Sarah Hawkins is the first CSU women’s soccer player to be named a first-team All-American, the school announced Wednesday.
Hawkins also is among six Lady Cougars on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2008 NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region teams.
CSU forwards Gina Goforth and Stephanie Parrish joined Hawkins on the region’s first team. CSU goalkeeper Monica Sanchez and midfielder Kellie Myles were named to the second team, and midfielder Lindsey Morgan is on the third team.
