The Columbus State volleyball team will open the 2015 season on Sept. 4 in a tournament in Milledgeville, Ga. It will be the first of 14 straight road games to begin the season.
"We are really excited about the upcoming season," CSU coach Casey Cornett said in a news release. "The challenges early in the season will help us prepare for the tough grind of the Peach Belt Conference."
This will be CSU's third season after the school restarted the program in 2013. The Lady Cougars have produced records of 20-11 (12-6 PBC) and 14-15 (9-9).
The Lady Cougars will play 31 matches this season with 22 of them on the road. The first home match comes on Oct. 2 against Lander.
The Lady Cougars will open the season against Wingate and Shorter on Sept. 4. On the second day of the Bobcat Classic, CSU will face Limestone and Charleston.
After a midweek trip to Valdosta State on Sept. 8, CSU plays in the Florida Tech tournament on Sept. 11-12 against Lynn, Albany State, Clafin and the host school.
The following weekend, CSU opens Peach Belt play on the road at Georgia Regents-Augusta and Georgia College.
Columbus State takes part in a tri-match in Misenheimer, N.C., on Sept. 26 against Belmont Abbey and Pfeiffer, the host school.
CSU will play the last of the 14 straight road games on Sept. 29 against Peach Belt foe Montevallo.
CSU will play six of the next eight at home, starting with Lander, followed by USC Aiken (Oct. 3) and Georgia College (Oct. 6).
After a pair of road games at Flagler (Oct. 9) and Armstrong State (Oct. 10), CSU hosts Montevallo (Oct. 13), Francis Marion (Oct. 16) and UNC Pembroke (Oct. 17).
The Lady Cougars will finish the non-conference portion of the schedule in a tri-match at Jefferson City, Tenn., against Queens and Carson-Newman, the host school.
CSU will close out the season with seven straight PBC contests, the first at home against Georgia Regents-Augusta (Oct. 28), followed by road matches at USC Aiken (Oct. 30) and Lander (Oct. 31). The next two are at home against Armstrong State (Nov. 6) and Flagler (Nov. 7).
The last two will be on the road at UNC Pembroke (Nov. 13) and Francis Marion (Nov. 14).
