South Alabama beats Auburn
MOBILE, Ala. — Auburn was held to six hits in a 5-2 loss Tuesday at South Alabama.
The Tigers had their 14-game non-conference winning streak snapped in the loss.
Chris LaGrow (1-0) earned the win for South Alabama. He pitched into the fifth inning, allowing just two runs on four hits.
Auburn starter Dexter Price lasted only 3 2-3 innings, giving up five runs on seven hits.
Trent Mummey with a bases-loaded ground out and Joseph Sanders with an RBI single in the fifth provided Auburn with its runs.
The two teams will play tonight at Plainsman Park at 7 p.m.
