TAMPA, Fla. -- Auburn shot just 29 percent from the floor in losing at South Florida 67-49 on Monday.
Chantel Hilliard came off the bench to lead Auburn with 16 points.
South Florida jumped out to a 22-3 lead in the first eight minutes of the game. Auburn battled back, cutting the deficit to 12, 36-24, by halftime.
In the second half, the Tigers got within four early in the second half but could not get any closer.
Auburn struggled to find its shot in the game, shooting 18-of-62 from the field for 29 percent and 2-of-13 from 3-point range for 15.4 percent.
