AUBURN, Ala. — It's roughly 27 hours until Auburn squares off against Texas A&M in what will be the Tigers' second road contest of the season. With that in mind, let's take a look back at the best Tigers'-related content to be had earlier in the week.
This cites the best quotes, stories and videos from Sunday-Thursday. With that in mind, this is supposed to be a short and breezy read, hitting on (what I consider) the highlights.
BEST QUOTESHead coach Gus Malzahn on Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel:
Never miss a local story.
"It's almost like watching a video game sometimes with the stuff he does. The human side, his competitiveness, his toughness, that's what really stands out to me. He's an extremely mentally and physically tough individual and he plays with that edge."
Defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson on Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans:
“You can be on perfect phase in coverage and you just can't — it's like a rebound in basketball. He's going to shield you out and get the ball. He's big, strong. He's very mobile. He's fast enough to get open. Even when you've got him coverage, he's got that tremendous size advantage — not only length but he's big.”
Auburn's offense is fine with Manziel and the Texas A&M offense receiving so much publicity. Why? Because they believe theycan put up just as many points as the top-scoring offensive unit in the SEC.
Auburn's defense, on the other hand, knows it has a tough task on its hands trying to slow down Texas A&M's high-octane attack. Defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson said the Aggies' offense doesn't have "a soft spot."
