AUBURN, Ala. — When Bret Bielema found fault with film Auburn provided to his team earlier this week, he said he followed protocol by immediately taking his concerns to the SEC’s league office on Monday.
Arkansas’ head coach said the conference got back to him later that same day. Since then, though, there has been no further interaction between the two parties.
“Other than the conversations that we had on Monday, we haven't (heard) anything back yesterday or today,” Bielema said during his time on the SEC coaches’ teleconference Wednesday. “Just a couple correspondences with the league office and that's all we can talk about.”
There was never an attempt by Bielema to reach out to any of the Tigers’ coaching staff.
Never miss a local story.
But he didn’t refute that other Razorback coaches may have contacted their colleagues in Auburn.
“Myself, no. There were people on our staff, but again all I did was notify the SEC on Monday morning when it came up,” he said. “That was the protocol I was instructed to do, and that's where it led.”
Gus Malzahn made his only comments on the matter during his weekly press conference Tuesday.
“We'll always operate with the utmost integrity in everything we do and if there's ever anything I don't know about that's brought to my attention, we'll deal with it in a prompt matter," Auburn's head coach said. “The SEC office is aware of all the details on both sides. And that's all I'm going to say regarding that.”
