Moment No. 4: Nick Marshall orchestrates game-winning 88-yard drive against Mississippi State
All of Marshall's hard work was about to be for naught.
Auburn's junior quarterback had thrown for 273 yards and a touchdown, only to see his team trail Mississippi State 20-17 with 1:56 remaining. With the ball in his hands and 88 yards ahead, Marshall took his game to another level.
Never miss a local story.
Carving up the Bulldogs' defense through the air and on the ground, Marshall couldn't be stopped, accounting for 85 yards (66 passing, 19 rushing) on the go-ahead drive. When Marshall connected with a leaping C.J. Uzomah in the end zone on a 13-yard touchdown toss with 10 seconds left, Auburn's victory was sealed.
It was merely a precursor of greater victories and even more memorable plays to come.
