AUBURN, Ala. — Nick Marshall and Robenson Therezie were deemed the top performers for their respective units during the 2013 season by Auburn's coaching staff.
Because of that, they'll have some hardware to show for it.
Marshall, a rising senior at quarterback, won the Pat Sullivan Award as the Tigers' top offensive player after throwing for 1,976 and 14 touchdowns and adding 1,068 yards and 12 more scores on the ground. He was chosen over running back Tre Mason, who set single-season school records for rushing yards (1,816) and touchdowns (23).
Therezie captured the Zeke Smith Award as the top defensive player, collecting 57 tackles (three for loss) and a team-high four interceptions last season. Fellow defender Cassanova McKinzy brought home the Mike Kolen Award, which goes to Auburn's leading tackler from the previous season. McKinzy, a junior linebacker, finished with 75 takedowns in 2013.
Never miss a local story.
The Ken Rice Award, given to the Tigers' top blocking lineman, went to Reese Dismukes, entering his fourth season as the starting center.
Former starting fullback Jay Prosch will receive the Shug Jordan Award as the Tigers' most outstanding senior.
