AUBURN, Ala. — Georgia prospects have committed to Auburn in masse over the past week.
Jordan Colbert became the latest on Saturday afternoon, as the four-star safety from Griffin, Ga., revealed the news on his personal Twitter account.
"I have decided to take my talents to the University of Auburn," he tweeted, including a photo of him standing beside Gus Malzahn in the coach's office.
It was a special day in more ways than one for Colbert, as he turned 17 on Saturday. Ranked as the No. 12 safety in the country by the 247Sports Composite, he is the fourth player from the state of Georgia to commit to Auburn since last week's A-Day game, joining a trio of offensive linemen in Bailey Sharp, Marquel Harrell and Kaleb Kim. Colbert's addition marks the seventh addition to Auburn's 2015 class in the past 12 days; aside from the Georgia quartet, the Tigers have received commitments from running back Kerryon Johnson, safety Ben Edwards and athlete Anfernee McGriff.
Never miss a local story.
Now 12 prospects strong, the Tigers 2015 haul has risen up to No. 2 in 247Sports' rankings. Scout has the class at No. 3 and Rivals put it at No. 8.
