Editor's note: Auburn's spring practice concluded with the A-Day game April 19. Some positions didn't change. Some had upheaval. With that in mind, Auburn beat writer Ryan Black will give his position-by-position of the entire depth chart as the Tigers head into the summer. The series continues with the tight ends.
Who's Who:C.J. Uzomah, senior:
Brandon Fulse, senior: One reception, five yards
Chris Laye, freshman: Seven receptions, 107 yards, two touchdowns (Numbers from senior season at Lambert High School in Suwanee, Ga.)
Ricky Parks, sophomore: Six receptions, 59 yards, two TDs (Numbers from past season at Northeast Mississippi Community College)
Analysis: Mirroring the projection at quarterback, tight end is another position on Auburn's offense that entered and exited the spring the same way.
Uzomah's starting job was never in danger, and if he can stay healthy, should end his final year on the Plains with his most successful season statistically. With Fulse leading the way at H-back, expect the coaching staff to try to limit his reps at tight end a bit. That could open the door for Parks, who used the spring to get reacclimated with the offense after he was dismissed from the team last fall.
And as noted time and again in Laye's case, the early enrollee will likely take a redshirt in 2014, barring a rash of injuries at either H-back or tight end.
