AUBURN, Ala. — Reese Dismukes was one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy last year. That made his inclusion on the award's initial watch list for the 2014 season little more than a formality.
Dismukes returns for his fourth season as Auburn's starting center this fall. In the past three years, he's made 37 starts, including all 14 games last season.
The rising senior was one of 64 players named to the watch list, and one of two finalists from last year, joining Oregon's Hroniss Grasu. Florida State's Bryan Stork went on to capture the Rimington last season.
The award winner is determined by taking the consensus All-American from three different teams: the Walter Camp Foundation, the Sporting News and the Football Writers Association of America.
Never miss a local story.
The recipient will be honored at the Rimington Trophy Presentation at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Neb., on Jan. 17, 2015.
